This discussion group is for questions about Yin Yoga and other body parts, such as shoulders, feet, wrists, etc.... Also, this is the place to discuss various conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, etc.
Certainly! Standing postures in yoga are great for stimulating bone growth, especially in the legs and hips. Doctors will often recommend walking to their patients who have osteoporosis because walking will stimulate the bones. The most common area where osteoporosis occurs, however, is in the lower back, and yin yoga is much better at stimulating the bones there (Sphinx and Seal especially).
