Yin Yoga retreat at Om Waters - Thailand

This forum is for teachers and studios to announce any interesting news about Yin Yoga workshops, retreats and classes. This allows folks to add their information without having to wait for the Yin Yoga administrator to post the news. I would suggest to all posters - put the date of the training in the title/header. NOTE: this is only for Yin Yoga trainings: other trainings will be deleted.

Yin Yoga retreat at Om Waters - Thailand

Post by jadewoodyoga »

Join Jade Wood for a long weekend at Om Waters floating eco retreat in Northern Thailand for a much-needed opportunity to slow down and tune-in.

4 days and 3 nights to soothe your soul with gentle embodiment practices incorporating ~ Somatic Yin Yoga ~ guided Yoga Nidra ~ breath awareness and visualisation techniques ~ Bodymapping, writing and drawing. Amidst the palpable peace of wild things.

This is a rare opportunity to reset your system by completely disconnecting from the outside world and tending to your own inner sanctuary, to drop the technology and become quiet enough to allow for your body to speak.

Your investment includes:

Transportation to and from Chiang Mai city centre, boat ride, 3 nights of simple yet stunning open-air accommodation at Om Waters floating eco lodge, 3 delicious vegetarian meals a day for Sat and Sun, dinner on Fri night and brunch before leaving on Mon (any dietary restrictions are taken into account)

Before Dec 1st:

~~~ £350 for bank transfer // 14,500 THB in cash ~~~
After Dec 1st:
~~~ £400 for bank transfer // 17,000 THB in cash ~~~

We will be leaving Chiang Mai at midday on the 18th and returning again by around 5pm on the 21st.

The schedule is centered around the needs of the group and so is subject to alteration but is created around this framework:

Arrival Day Fri 18th ~ meet in Chiang Mai at midday, depart at 1pm by red truck to Sri Lanna National Park, 2.30/3pm arrive on shore and take a boat to Om Waters, orientation and arrival, 4.30/5pm opening practice, 7pm dinner, rest

Saturday and Sunday ~ 8am breakfast, 10am movement practice, free time, 1pm lunch, free time to swim, rest, move, write etc, 4pm circle for reflection followed by movement practice, 7pm dinner, free time/community time, rest

Departure Day Mon 21st ~ fruit and beverage open table, 9am movement practice, 11am brunch, 12.30pm closing circle,1-2pm departure , arrival back in Chiang Mai 4/5pm

All are welcome with wide open arms. The practices are accessible to anyone, with or without a regular movement repertoire and are tailored to support the needs of all. Central to the way that Jade teaches is the opportunity to meet yourself exactly where you're at, without judgement, or the necessity to achieve, fostering a kind sense of curiosity in your ability to sense yourself. This in itself is a kind of 'advanced' practice...to be aware of the uniqueness of ourselves in our entirety is no small feat of magnificence! Therefore if you are looking to engage with yourself on a deeper level, learn something new, make friends with your body or just rest your nervous system then this is the perfect environment.

Jade brings 10 years of experience in facilitating movement, bodywork and self enquiry. She is a Somatic Yin Yoga Teacher Trainer, a Shiatsu, Thai and Craniosacral Therapist and a Feldenkrais Teacher in training.

There will be time each day for your own space to rest, swim, read, or just watch the world go by. We will also be working with material from Mark Nepo's exquisite book ~ '7000 Ways to Listen' ~ which is recommended reading.

These can be incredibly insightful times when we lay down all other responsibilities outside of our own self care. A nourishing widow for the soul to be seen in the stunning reflections of nature. If you know that you are needing to give yourself the preciousness of your own attention, to be heard deeply and witnessed by a supportive group, to get out into nature, to move in ways that are delightful, with reverence for this body which has provided so much for you then there is a place waiting in for you out on the lake.
