Hi Bernie,

Thank you so much for your lengthy reply, it really helps. I will definitely try Anahatasana with arms on blocks, and the "hugging" caterpillar.

Looking forward to hearing from women who have been through the same. :D

Snail pose and other inversions in pregnancy

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can help with this. I am 6 months pregnant and I am still doing a very varied yin yoga practice every day, helped by the fact that I only have a small bump and I am very flexible. My favourite pose is snail. I get very tense between my shoulders (it's where I a...

I see, thanks Bernie. It's a shame that near where I live (in the UK) there aren't any Yin Yoga workshops or teacher training courses. I would love to explore different teaching styles! Hopefully something interesting will soon become available!

Hi Bernie,

thank you for your reply. I agree with you, they feel very different. I thought that only one was the "correct" way. I'll explore them both more and probably switch between the two according to how I feel.

Hi Bernie,

Am I correct in visualizing energy flowing down my spine when I inhale and up my spine when I exhale?

Hi Bernie, I just found this old post of yours. It's very interesting, thank you for your explanations. Would you say that the Yin Yoga styles that you, Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers teach are different from each other? I am mainly following your guidelines (inspired from your book), but I have also...

My humble opinion is that if stretching feels good (and it does!) and if other animals naturally do it (and they do), then it means that it must be good for you! :D

Hi all!

I like reading on the floor with my legs in saddle pose (sitting up, without lying back). Nice stretch to the knees!

Hi Kristin,

Wow that's cold!

I'd better stop complaining about the -2/-3 degrees celsius that we have here in the UK!!

Hi Bernie,

Thank you for your quick reply! I don't feel any pain during or after the pose so I guess that it's ok for me to do it this way!

PS - I recently finished reading your book "the complete guide to yin yoga", and I have enjoyed it very much, thanks!

Snail Pose

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum but I have been visiting this wonderful website quite regularly. I am IN LOVE with yin yoga. I was wondering if anyone can help me with this question. I am hyper-flexible so when I do the snail pose I put both my knees, together, on the floor behind my head. It doe...
