early morning yoga - spine

Hi Bernie I found this fascinating about what happens overnight when reading your book your spine your yoga and doing the course as many yoga studios offer 6am classes. Does heat (like 30 degrees celsius+) have any positive affect on this by making spinal movements safer in the morning or does it no...

Just like our skeletons are unique I believe our digestive systems are too. Some people thrive on a keto diet, some on a vegan diet, some on a Mediterranean ect. I think as our yoga practice develops we start to listen to our body more and respect what we put into it. My body does best on a low carb...

Hamstrings versus Hamsprings and Basketballers

Hi Bernie I'm currently doing your and Dr McGill's Your Spine Your Yoga course through Yoga International which I'm really enjoying. I've gotten to the part which talks about hamstrings also being known as 'hamsprings' and how if people who want to be able to jump high (i.e basketballers) shouldn't ...

Jump backs to high plank versus low plank

Hi Bernie I would like to know your opinion on jumping back from half way lift to high plank versus low plank. Maybe this will be discussed in your next book? I don't know..it would be interesting and valuable. I've been told recently from some vinyasa teachers that you should never jump into high p...

Thanks Bernie this answers my question! I only feel compression in the back of the shoulder and no tension is felt through the pecs.
I'm looking forward to your next book!

Urdhva Dhanurasana (wheel) and Shoulder flexion

Hi Bernie, I hope you are well during this difficult time. I'm currently doing Paul Grilley's fabulous online course Yin Yoga the Functional Approach as I'm trying to make the most out of Covid 19 lockdown so least I have more time for study! Which is great! I had a light bulb moment yesterday in on...

Discovery of Human Variation by Paul Grilley

Hi Bernie I hope you are well! I have been trying to find the background story of how Paul Grilley discovered human variation (I'm not saying he is the first to discover this but he has made a huge impact to many of us which I am very grateful for) as part of his yoga teaching journey. what led to i...

Bulged Discs and Fascia

Hi Bernie When I trained with you almost a year a go, I vaguely remember you mentioning the high percentage of people over the age of either 30, 40 or 50 who have a bulged disc. It was quite a high number and surprised me. I can't find it easily in your new book so thought I 'd ask as this is very i...
